What a Day!!!
Thursday night I took the kids to the Open House at school. Ron had school so he didn't go. So we all went with happy faces. We all got out of the car and I was strolling in the dark parking lot and then it happened. I twisted my ankle on a large and mean branch (OK, it was a small one inch branch). It hurt so bad, I just about cried. Being a mom and a tough cookie that I am, I just limped on. We all saw the kids teachers and signed up foe conferences. My foot just throbbed like no buddies business. We went home and I really couldn't walk on it. Ron said it probably was a sprain. I took some medicine and went to bed. When I got up this morning I really couldn't walk on it. I could slide my foot, like Frankenstein. Crazy! I really couldn't take the pain anymore so I called the doctor. He said it could be a sprain or broken but most likely not. So off Lukas and I went to get an x-ray. Now it was pouring all day, buckets of rain and I was limping, slowly in the rain, like frank! So after the x-ray the techs told me my doctor was on the phone. I had to go back to the doctor because I had broken my ankle. I called Ron and told him he was totally surprised. The doctor then sent me back to get a disk of my foot and then off to the orthopedics meanwhile, I had to go home and feed Lukas and myself and get him off to school at 12:30 and it was 12:15. Ron had lunch ready and he got Lukas ready. We went to the Ortho's and he said my ankle bone had broken off when the ligaments tore it off. Very painful!! So I got a beautiful PINK walking cast. It is the weirdest thing to have a cast on. I am not sure how to walk on it. Tomorrow I will have a picture. As for now I have to raise it, it is really throbbing.

So sorry about the ankle. Moms just don't have time for these kind of things. At least if was after all the fun with your parents. They sound great. I look forward to getting to know you better in the blogworld.
BTW, I'm Emily (audra's sister). Audra raves about you and insisted that I check out your blog.

Girl, that stinks. :( I'm with Lara here, we need pictures! You are one strong mama to stay and ride it out at the open house. I predict our mother of the year award is headed your way. :)
Take care of yourself.
