A great book

This book is great. Everyone should read it! This really has helped me. John Bytheway is such a great speaker and his book is inspiring.
One part I would like to share is this by Elder Richard G. Scott:
When you are face adversity, you can be led to ask many questions. Some serve a useful purpose; others do not. To ask, Why does this have to happen to me? Why do I have to suffer this, now? What have I done to cause this? will lead you into blind alleys. It really does no good to ask questions that reflect opposition to the will of God. Rather ask, What am I to do? What am I to learn from this experience? What am I to change? Whom am I to help? How can I remember my many blessings in times of trial? Willing sacrifice of deeply held personal desires in favor of the will of God is very hard to do. Yet, when you pray with real conviction, " Please let me know Thy will" and "May Thy will be done," you are in the strongest position to receive the maximum help from your loving Father.
Do you want to know where fatigue comes from? It doesn't come from working too hard. All the research shows that fatigue comes from not finishing your work. William James once wrote, "Nothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task."
This really has been helpful.

I saw John Bytheway at a FYI fireside when I was 17, and he was terrific!

You just made my day with that quote. It really makes sense about the questions we ask and how we approach adversity. I've been down those blind allies and they are a disturbing place to be. I'd rather receive the maximum light and blessings from God than wander down there again.

You were inspired to put that in your blog! Thanks my dear friend.

Wonderful post. Thanks Kristen. I've only heard John Bytheway give very youth oriented firesides, which are terribly fun, but this is really good!
